What to Expect at Your First Visit

Our team at Aronson Family Dental looks forward to meeting you and doing everything possible to make your first visit as easy and comfortable as possible. By focusing on preventative dentistry, we can help you achieve a healthy and beautiful smile and avoid serious dental issues in the future.

At your first visit, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early for check in and to fill out new patient paperwork. This will help us get better acquainted with you and allows you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

New Patient Visit

Your 90-minute appointment with one of our registered dental hygienists will begin by review of your dental and medical history and the reason for your visit. This includes discussing any concerns or discomfort you are having. Your hygienist will take a full set of digital x-rays, which are reviewed by Dr. Aronson to determine if there is existing dental work, decay, periodontal disease, or pathology. Your hygienist will also complete periodontal charting, perform an oral cancer screening, take intraoral pictures of your teeth, and clean your teeth.

Dr. Aronson will complete a comprehensive oral examination and suggest a treatment plan that is best suited for you. This includes looking for signs of tooth decay, bone loss, oral cancer, and periodontal (gum) disease. Our treatment coordinator is here to discuss your options for treatment. She is also able to answer any insurance or financial questions you might have and work with you to schedule your next appointment.

New Patient Emergency Visit

If you are a new patient and are experiencing a dental emergency, we would be happy to see you to take care of that immediate problem. Dr. Aronson will perform an exam that focuses on the problem you are experiencing. We may also take a single x-ray of the tooth or teeth that are in pain. During this exam, we may be able provide do same-day treatment, refer you to a specialist, or find a more convenient time to schedule treatment. Once we have taken care of the immediate problem, we would be happy to schedule you for a return visit to our office for a comprehensive exam, x-rays, and a cleaning.
